VIP CCW Services is authorized to provide CCW training for all agencies listed below. Our Initial l 16-hour class meets the requirements set by SB2 and adheres to California PC 26165. The course is conducted entirely in person over two days, split into Lecture 1 and Lecture 2 (lecture/range).
After registration, you'll receive instructions to schedule your preferred dates for Lecture 1 and Lecture 2.
You can choose ANY dates from our calendar as long as Lecture 1 is completed before Lecture 2 (Lecture/Range).
Calendar routinely updated with additional class dates. Finding a time that works for your needs should not be a problem!
You may change, modify your scheduled class days using our online calendar!

Our Initial CCW Class consists of 16 hours of training, divided into two parts.
For Los Angeles CCW Students (LASD,LAPD, Cities in Los Angeles etc), Lecture 1 and Lecture 2 (Lecture/Range) is held at LAX Range and can be scheduled at dates and times convenient for students. Weekday and weekend dates are both available. After enrollment, you may choose from our calendar, ANY Lecture 1, Lecture 2 (Lecture/Range) that works for your schedule.
Our training program is designed to meet the requirements set by CA SB2 and is compliant with PC 26165. Our instructors all hold sworn law enforcement positions. All instructors are POST Certified Law Enforcement Instructors.
Completion of this course fulfills the training requirement necessary to obtain your Los Angeles County CCW Permit or for any other specified police departments.
During the class, you will cover various topics, including but not limited to:
- California laws regarding the possession of a firearm in public as per SB2
- California laws regarding the safe storage of a firearm within a residence and in public
- California laws regarding the permissible use of a firearm
- Criminal and Civil liability laws regarding firearms
- Safe Handling of firearms including assembly, disassembly, cleaning and reassembly.
- Firearm safety, responsible firearm ownership.
- Safe storage, handling, transportation and maintenance of a firearm.
- Different ammunition types: hollow point vs. full metal jacket.
- Responsibilities associated with possessing and carrying a firearm.
- De-escalation techniques and threat assessment.
- Holster types and selection.
- Federal Firearms laws.
- Traveling with firearms.
- How to safely, respectfully, and courteously handle a law enforcement encounter such as being pulled over.
